Travel to North India with Sanskrititours
Covering Jodhpur and
Udaipur today in my post, I run through all the wonderful time spent here with
the lovely people of Rajasthan.
Jodhpur, the blue city of
Rajasthan, is dominated by the glorious Mehrangarh Fort built by Rao Jodha. The
city has beautiful palaces and is home to the largest residence in the world,
Umaid Bhawan.
Often dubbed India’s most romantic city, Udaipur is home to lake palaces, havelis and
gardens. Parts of the James Bond movie, Octopussy, was shot at the gorgeous
Lake Palace
The driving distance
between Jodhpur and Udaipur is 307 km, while the aerial distance from Jodhpur
to Udaipur is 238 km
The appeal of Udaipur is that the setting on
the artificial lakes is just gorgeous. It's hard to beat, dining lakeside at
breakfast and dinner. You can take a boat ride (sunset is nice, but so is
daytime) and so all of that can be quite romantic.
Jodhpur has one of the best forts in India. And
it really is "the blue city". Mehrangar Fort has a terrific museum /
art gallery; and if museum shops are your thing, it's the best in India by a
long way. The Jaswant Thada is a really peaceful part of India, and certainly
worth the visit before heading to the fort.
You can´t go to Jodhpur w/o
seeing the fort, very very cool. After that, the Clock Tower market which you
cannot miss!
The people of Rajasthan are
lovely and helpful! During your visit I must say you will fall in love withRajasthan and visit this place whenever you get an opportunity.
Our guide at Sanskrititours.com
made our group visit so special and he mentioned all details about the place.
If you are visiting through any agency then I would recommend SanskritiTours
